There are thousands of baby room decorating themes out there and I really don’t see anything wrong with being gender specific. Some parents prefer a neutral theme on the other hand for practical reasons.

You don’t have to stick to a specific animal, what’s important is the overall theme and color scheme of the room. You can choose whatever animals you like- from zoo animals to safari animals to farm animals, it’s completely up to you. If you like a specific animal though to be the star in the room, pick one that is loved by kids like an elephant, dolphin or bear.

Under the sea is also one of the most popular neutral baby room decorating themes. You can decorate the nursery with dolphins, whales, colorful fish and turtles. Paint a sea mural to make the room look more attractive and fun. Under the sea baby items and accessories are readily available almost anywhere, even online. From crib sets adorned with sea creatures to baby mobiles, you can find loads of cute stuff to complete your baby’s under the sea adventure.

Another favorite among the neutral baby room decorating themes is the Rainforest theme. The rainforest serves as a home to plants, insects and various animals which cannot be found anywhere else in the world and this can be showcased in the nursery. You can do simple monotone colors for the wall and then make the theme come alive by painting murals of trees and animals which are synonymous to the rainforest. If you’re not artistic enough to do a mural, find a stencil instead with projected images that can be traced and painted onto walls. You can also find different removable stickers and stick and peel giant wall decals to make the task easier for you.
